National Hospital of Sri Lanka
The National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL), located in Colombo, is the largest and oldest tertiary care hospital in the country and one of the most prominent in South Asia. Founded in 1864 as the “General Hospital, Colombo,” it has grown over more than 150 years into the nation’s primary referral center and teaching hospital. Today, it serves as the central hub of Sri Lanka’s public healthcare system, which provides free medical services to all citizens.
