Yangon General Hospital, Myanmar

Located in Yangon, Myanmar, Yangon General Hospital is the country’s largest public hospital and a major tertiary care center. It also serves as a primary teaching hospital for the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, and other allied medical institutions.

YGH was originally established in 1899 as the Rangoon General Hospital. Its main building, designed by architect Henry Hoyne-Fox, was constructed between 1904 and 1909 in Victorian style. Over time, additional wings and modern facilities have been added, though parts of the older infrastructure face challenges in maintenance and modernization.

The hospital has around 2,000 beds and provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, and specialty services. Its clinical departments include general medicine, surgery, trauma & orthopedics, and many subspecialties, supported by diagnostic units like radiology, pathology, microbiology, nuclear medicine, and more.

Our 5MP mammography diagnostic monitors are being used here.
